Thats eerie. Almost too eerie. It would surely make a good horror episode. I sure wouldnt want to read it at night. Kudos. Brilliant.

wow.. can anything be so 'nothing' - and it sort of freaked me out that I lay my hands on your story immediately after I posted a poem - called - Only 'nothing' matters.

weird stuff keeps happening.

anyway - I loved the parallel you drew between nothingness and emptiness - exquisite writing. loved it.

Good read. Fixations...inexplicable to the ones not 'in the fix'..Could apply to other situations...like 'bhakti'...enjoyed..

It so happens in life that whatever a man or a woman does is to be taken as the right
thing and in the right spirit.   That realisation comes later.  So it applies to nothingness as well. You have portrayed 'nothingness' brightly. Cheers.

Absolutely loved this writing! It reminds me of Ayn Rand's writing. The things that are worth living for in this world are the ones we pass by and take for granted.

The exyternalsed catharitic confusion of the sou is externalised and as the painting came to him spread itself around him in the form of ctharitic events like losing the job, wjfe etc.

lucky him......

if it had touched   his soul directly may be it would have inundated him and he would have sunk under the pressure. nevr to raise his head again. He will now return from nothingness.

remarkable rendering......

I admire the story writer for presenting an excellent story .I read it twice to get the pleasure out.How a person can get attracted to a painting so much as to forget the wife, office and the world. How his interest to go to the gallery for seeing the soulful painting had aroused suspicion in his wife and the boss.It is true when you come to that stage of craze you least bother for comments. You are like a person in coma or spell bound. After the fourteenth day he could buy the painting .thereafter he lost his job, his wife got separated  the house was sold but still he clung to the painting , the price of which was appreciating.
Your story has been written in great style. This is one of the best stories I have read.
